Chris Hassen is a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in English and Communication. Currently, Chris is the President of Public Relations for Green St. Records, a student-run record label on campus. He is also a radio promotions intern at Polyvinyl Records, an independent record label which is home to artists such as of Montreal, Headlights, Architecture in Helsinki and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin.
Chris hopes to someday work for an independent record label as an in-house publicist and promotions manager. He is also interested in music journalism and currently writes a concert review blog for the217.com. Either of these occupations will enable him to combine his love for writing with his passion for music.
Sadly, because he cannot play an instrument, Chris’ dream of starting a punk band currently consists of playing “The Beast and the Harlot” on Guitar Hero 2 with his girlfriend (and losing every time). In addition to music, Chris enjoys watching baseball and cheering on his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
